FAQ

Short answers to the questions people ask most about Vato, accounts, AI providers and devices.

Do I need my own AI subscription?

For most agents, yes. Vato does not sell AI usage: Claude, Codex, Cursor and the other providers run on your own account with that provider. Vato AI is the exception: it is available as soon as you are signed in to Vato. See Start your first conversation.

Which AI providers can I use?

Claude, Codex, Gemini, Cursor, OpenRouter, Antigravity, OpenCode and Vato AI. Connect them in Settings → Providers.

Is my code sent to Vato?

Agents run on your computer. The files and prompts an agent works with go to the AI provider you picked, using your account with that provider. Your provider credentials stay on your computer.

Some features go through Vato's servers: Vato AI, letting Vato choose the model or effort automatically, and Team features. Your phone and other remote clients reach your computer through Vato too.

Where are my conversations stored?

Your personal conversations are stored on the computer that runs them. The mobile app shows them live from that computer. Deleting your Vato account doesn't delete them from your computers.

Can I use the same account on several computers?

Yes. Sign in with the same Vato account on each computer. They all appear in the mobile app, and you choose which computer to use when you start a conversation from your phone.

Does my computer need to stay on?

Yes, for agents that run on it. The mobile app doesn't run agents itself: Vato Desktop must be open and signed in on the computer. If you use Vato Cloud, bots that run there keep working when your computer is off.

Which systems does Vato run on?

Vato Desktop runs on macOS 13 Ventura or later (Apple Silicon or Intel) and on 64-bit Windows 10 (build 1909) or later. The mobile app runs on iPhone and Android.

Can I sign in with Google or Apple?

Yes. On the sign-in page, choose Continue with Google or Continue with Apple. You can also use an email and password.

Why does the download page say "Account approval required"?

New accounts may need to be approved by a Vato administrator before they can download and use the app. See Your account.

How do I update Vato?

Vato checks for updates when it starts and regularly while it runs. When an update is ready, an Update button appears at the bottom of the Agent sidebar. See Install Vato and sign in.

How do I delete my account?

On the website, open your profile and click Delete my account. In the mobile app, go to Settings → Delete my account. See Delete your account.

Where can I get help?

Email support@vatoide.com. In the mobile app, you can also use Settings → About → Contact support. For common problems, start with:
