Review changes
Check what an agent changed, follow your branch, isolate work in worktrees and review pull requests without leaving Vato.
Vato shows Git information next to each conversation. Git features need Git installed on your computer and a project that is a Git repository.
Review what an agent changed
When an agent edits files during a turn, the conversation shows a card such as 3 files changed, with the lines added and removed.
- Click Review to show the diff of every file at once. Click it again to hide them.
- Click the arrow at the end of a file row to see only that file's diff (View diff).
- Hover a file row to preview its diff.
- Click a file name to open the file in your system's default app.
- When the card lists many files, click Show followed by the number of hidden files to see them all.
Some cards also show Undo, which rewinds the conversation to before this turn. With Claude and Codex, your files go back too. With other providers, only the conversation goes back. See Start your first conversation.
Follow your branch
The Environment panel on the right of the conversation shows:

When the remote branch has new commits, a row Pull 2 incoming commit(s) appears, with the actual number.
- Click it to see the incoming commits.
- Click Pull all to bring them into your project.
Isolate a conversation in a worktree
A worktree gives a conversation its own branch and folder, so its changes don't mix with yours. Choose it before you send the first message:
- In a new conversation, click the environment button in the message toolbar. It shows Local workspace by default.
- Choose New worktree, then Choose the base branch. You can also pick one of the Existing worktrees.
- Send your message. The agent works in that worktree.
Manage worktrees in Settings → Worktrees:
- Setup script runs inside every worktree after it is created or reused, for example to install dependencies. Click Save after editing it.
- Git checkouts lists each worktree, its branch and its linked conversations.
- Remove worktree deletes the folder and its uncommitted changes. Move linked conversations back to the local workspace first.
Pull requests, issues and Actions
Vato reads GitHub through the GitHub CLI. Install gh and sign in with gh auth login first.
- In the main navigation bar, click Conversation to switch to GitHub.
- Choose a tab: Pull requests, Issues or Actions.
In Pull requests, Vato lists the open pull requests of your project repositories. Use Search pull requests or filter by repository, then open one to see its details.
From a pull request you can, among other actions:
- Approve, Request changes or Comment.
- Rebase and merge when GitHub allows it.
- Ask questions to start a conversation where an agent reads the pull request and its diff.
- Open on GitHub.
Use Create PR to open a new pull request from a branch.
If a repository can't be read, Vato says so at the top of the list. Check your GitHub access, then refresh.
