# Bots on mobile

> Chat with your Bots, create new ones and run Bot groups from your phone, while the work keeps running on your computer.

The **Bots** tab shows the Bots and Bot groups of your computers. You can talk to them, create new Bots and groups, and change most settings. The Bots themselves run on the computer they belong to.

> Vato Desktop must be open and signed in on the computer that hosts the Bots. Otherwise the tab shows **Open Vato IDE on one of your computers to access its local bots.**

## Find a Bot

The list shows **Groups** first, then **Pinned** Bots, then your other Bots by section. Use **Search bots and groups** to filter it. When you have several computers, each Bot shows the name of its computer.

Tap a Bot to open its conversation. Press and hold a Bot to open its menu:

| Action | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Pin** / **Unpin** | Keeps the Bot at the top of the list. |
| **Move to section** | Files the Bot under a section name. |
| **Mute notifications** | Silences this Bot only. |
| **Edit profile** | Opens the Bot's settings. |
| **Duplicate** | Creates a copy of the Bot. |
| **Hide from sidebar** | Moves the Bot to **Hidden conversations**. |
| **Delete** | Deletes the Bot and its conversations. This can't be undone. |

## Create a Bot

1. Tap the create button at the top of the tab. If you already have two Bots or more, choose **New bot**.
2. Under **What should this bot do?**, describe the Bot's job.
3. Tap the model button to **Choose a model**, and set the reasoning level if the model supports it.
4. Tap send. The Bot is created on the selected computer and starts working on your description.

If you see **The desktop has not confirmed yet**, go back and check the Bots list. Don't create the Bot again until you know whether the first one exists.

## Edit a Bot

Open **Edit profile** to change the **Name**, **Role** and **Instructions**, and to turn **Notifications** on or off. Tap **Advanced settings** for the **Color**, **Provider**, **Model**, **Reasoning**, **Fast Mode**, **Durable memory** and **Skills**. Tap **Save changes** when you are done.

**Archive this bot** hides the Bot from your active Bots. You restore it from Vato Desktop.

## Run a Bot group

A group lets several Bots work together on the same conversation.

1. Tap the create button, then **New group**.
2. Give the group a name and pick **2 to 6 bots**. They must be on the same computer.
3. Tap **Create group**, then send the group its first message.

In a group you can **Reply** to or **React** to a message, and attach photos or files: up to 6 per message. Attachments go only to the selected computer. If a message shows **Delivery failed**, tap it to retry.

You need at least two Bots on a computer to start a group.

## What stays on your computer

Some settings are only available in Vato Desktop:

- **Computer Use** can't be turned on for a Bot from your phone. If a Bot already has it, your edits keep it as it is.
- The **Permission mode** is shown but can't be changed from your phone.
- Archived Bots are restored from Vato Desktop.

## Bots on Vato Cloud

If Vato Cloud is enabled for your account, a **Vato Cloud** card lets you **Wake up**, **Start** or **Stop** the machine. A sleeping machine wakes up on your next message.

In a Vato Cloud Bot's conversation, tap the globe button, **Open the agent's browser**, to watch its browser live. Tap **Take control** to tap and type in the page yourself, and **Hand back** to let the agent continue.
