Browser profiles and cookies

Give each conversation's integrated browser its own profiles, browse in incognito, and import your existing logins with your consent.

Each conversation has its own integrated browser. You can give it named profiles, switch to incognito, and import the logins you already have in another browser so the agent doesn't have to sign in again.

#Open the browser settings

1. Open a conversation whose browser is running.
2. In the browser panel toolbar, click the gear button, Browser settings. It shows the name of the current profile, or Private in incognito.

#Use profiles

A profile keeps its own cookies and site data. Profiles belong to the conversation: they don't share logins with other conversations.

• Profile for this conversation: pick the profile to use. The first one is called Default.
• To add a profile, type a name in New profile name and click Create. Vato switches to it right away.

Names can be 1 to 60 characters, with up to 20 profiles.

Switching profiles restarts this browser and closes its tabs.

#Browse in incognito

Check Incognito to use a temporary browser session. Vato discards its cookies and site storage when the browser closes.

#Import your existing logins

You can copy the cookies of another browser on this computer into the selected profile. Nothing is imported unless you ask.

1. Select the profile that should receive the logins. Incognito must be off.
2. Under Import existing logins, choose the source browser and profile.
3. Read and check the consent box: I allow Vato and this conversation's agent to use the imported sessions. Matching cookies in the selected profile will be replaced.
4. Click Import into selected profile.
5. Reload the website to use its session.

Vato tells you how many cookies were imported, skipped and rejected.

#Supported source browsers

Chrome and Edge are not offered on Windows, because they protect their cookies with app-bound encryption. Sign in directly in the Vato browser instead.

#What is and isn't imported

• Only cookies are imported. Passwords, passkeys and local storage stay in the source browser.
• Expired cookies are skipped.
• Some sites still ask you to sign in again, for example when a session is tied to a device.

If the import fails, close the source browser and try again. On macOS, allow access to the keychain when asked. Safari may need Full Disk Access for Vato.
