Get files from an agent

Ask an agent to send you a document, image or archive, then download it on your phone, on vatoide.com or on another computer.

When an agent creates or finds a file you want (a Word document, a PDF, an image, a ZIP archive…), ask it to send it to you. The agent attaches the file to the conversation, and you can download it from any of your devices. This is what you need on the mobile app, where a path on your computer can't be opened.

Ask for the file

Ask in plain words, for example:

  • "Send me the Word document."
  • "Attach the PDF here so I can open it on my phone."

The agent attaches the file. A card with the file name and size appears under its answer.

Download the file

Good to know

  • The file is downloaded from the computer that runs the conversation. Vato must be open and online on that computer. Otherwise the card shows Download failed. Check that the computer or Bot hosting this conversation is online, then retry.
  • The card keeps the file as it was when the agent sent it, even if the file changes afterwards.
  • Each download is checked before it is saved: a damaged or incomplete file is never saved.
  • A transfer goes through Vato's encrypted relay, only to devices signed in to your account. No public link is created.
  • Up to 12 files per delivery, 100 MiB per file and 1 GiB per conversation. When a conversation reaches 1 GiB, the agent can't send it more files.
  • Sent files stay available as long as the conversation exists. Deleting the conversation deletes its sent files.
  • In Plan mode, agents can't send files.
  • Bots on Vato Cloud send files the same way, with 1 GiB per Bot.
