# Connect your AI accounts

> Sign in to Claude, Codex and Gemini, add API keys for the other providers, and use several accounts side by side.

Vato runs every agent on your own provider accounts. Everything on this page happens in `Settings → Providers`.

## Check which providers are ready

Under **Provider connections**, each provider has a row marked **Connected** or **Not connected**. If a row needs a command-line tool that isn't installed or signed in, click **Open terminal**. Vato opens a terminal with the right install or sign-in command.

| Provider | How to connect it |
| --- | --- |
| **Claude**, **Codex**, **Gemini** | Add an account (see below), or sign in with the provider's own CLI. |
| **Cursor** | Paste your key into **Cursor API key** and click **Save**, or sign in with `cursor-agent login`. |
| **OpenRouter** | Paste your key into **OpenRouter API key** and click **Save**. |
| **Antigravity** | Paste a Gemini key into **Gemini API key (Antigravity)** and click **Save**. |
| **Grok** | Install the `grok` command-line tool, sign in with it, then restart Vato. |
| **OpenCode** | Install OpenCode. Free models work without an account; run `opencode auth login` for the others. |
| **Vato AI** | Nothing to do: it is ready as soon as you are signed in to Vato. |

API keys are stored on this computer. To delete one, click **Remove** under its field.

## Add Claude, Codex or Gemini accounts

The **Claude and Codex accounts** group lists your saved accounts for Claude, Codex and Gemini. The account your CLI is signed in to is detected automatically and marked **Current**.

1. Click **Add account** next to the provider.
2. Finish the official sign-in in the browser page that opens.
3. For **Gemini**, copy the code Google shows, paste it into **Authorization code** and click **Submit code**.

While Vato waits, the button reads **Cancel sign-in**. Each account you add is kept in its own isolated profile on this computer, so adding one never changes your CLI login.

To manage an account, use the pencil icon to rename it or the trash icon to remove it. You can't remove the **Current** account: switch the CLI login first.

> Your phone and other remote clients only receive the account label, email and plan. Credentials stay on this computer.

## Use several accounts

In a Claude or Codex conversation, the key button in the message bar opens the account picker for that conversation.

- **Automatic**: Vato chooses an available account and switches when its quota is reached.
- A saved account: the conversation always uses that account.
- **Add**: signs in another account without leaving the conversation.

You can't switch accounts while a turn is running. If the provider rejects an account, it shows **Disconnected**; use **Reconnect** to sign in again.

## Installed CLI or bundled runtime

Claude, Codex and Gemini turns run on the CLI installed on your computer when it is recent enough. Otherwise Vato uses its own copy. The provider row tells you which one is used:

- **Installed CLI · version**: your own CLI.
- **Vato bundled runtime · version**: Vato's copy.

When Vato skips your CLI, for example because it is too old, a short warning follows the version. Claude Code needs version 2.1.280 or later, and the Codex CLI version 0.124.0 or later.

## Updates, visibility and usage

- **Provider updates** lists provider tools that Vato can update. Click **Update** on a row.
- **Visible providers** sets the order of providers in the model picker. Drag to reorder, or hide the ones you don't use.
- `Settings → Usage & quotas` shows how much of each account's allowance is left.
